From Italy’s Carosello de Carabiniere, Canada’s Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Oman’s Royal Cavalry Activity Ride, to Russia’s display from the Kremlin Equestrian School, India’s Marwarhi Dancing Horses, and Australia’s New South Wales Police Force Activity Ride, this year’s show promises to be a truly historic and memorable event.
As the first major outdoor show of the season, and the only annual event that allows visitors access to Her Majesty The Queen’s private grounds at Windsor, this year’s Royal Windsor Horse Show is set to be bigger and better than ever before. Over 3,000 horses and ponies, including Her Majesty’s own, will take part in over 170 classes; from firm favourites such as The Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix, top class Show Jumping, 150 Showing classes, to the ever popular displays including , The Pony Club Mounted Games, Tent Pegging and The Best Turned Out Trooper.
This year’s five-day equestrian extravaganza kicks off with Hunter Showing classes and the Horse & Hound Foxhunter jumping competition on Wednesday 9th May and culminates in The Alltech Grand Prix on Sunday 13th May.
Royal Windsor Horse Show attracts riders of all ages and disciplines, from team GBR competitors to grass roots riders who have qualified through the AmTrust Equine Royal Windsor Horse Show British Riding Clubs Championships, supported by PONY and Horse & Rider Magazines.
With more than 200 shops, you can find everything from all types of equestrian goodies, to jewellery, clothing, homeware and arts and crafts. The event also boasts a fantastic food and drink festival, as well as a 4 x 4 course and a generous selection of bars, restaurants and cafes for visitors to enjoy.
